Journal entry 2.24.16

It amazes me that God,
who orders the planets and holds them in place,
would have concern for me

And yet, he holds my days in his hand
he lifts them up for his purposes
he blesses them and shows me his love

The God of the great wide universe,
who gives the sun its fiery power
also brings down its light to shine on my face

He built me as he built all of creation
and yet I breathe the breath of life
I alone am made in the image of the king

He commands great heavenly hosts and rules all nations
And still he answers me when I call,
he sits with me and holds me close

This God–my God–weaves together the fabric
of past, present, and future
And he loves me

As a mother loves her child,
my God loves me as his own
